I had already finish the survey part of my project. In order to save time, I decide to conduct a online survey rather than distributing in the street.

I had successfully obtained about 50 results.

Now, I am analyzing the above responses and also recruiting the focus group people at the same time. As google already helps me to display all the data as a simple pie chart. It makes me easier to understand the distribution of the participant's gender, age and profession. The next step is to create some tables in order to show the relationship between different variables. For example,  I compare the question "How much time did you spend on Facebook yesterday?" with "Which of the following functions of Facebook are you interested in? ". It can help me understand whether the frequency of visiting Facebook affects the reasons why people come to this site. However, I am not really sure about my analysis methods.

   The research methods that i choose are  questionnaire and focus group. In my opinions, doing  questionnaire is not really valid and adequate for user research. It cannot be the primary research methods. Therefore, I conduct focus group so as to supplement this method and obtain a more accurate result.

         In recent years, Facebook became the most popular social networking site in the world. It acts as a platform to gather the user from all over the world. People can share their daily life with words, photos or videos. Also, it provides different kinds of entertainment, such as games and fan pages. Thus, the interaction between Facebook and people is really strong. The first part of my project is going to analysis the reasons of the popularity of Facebook.

          However, the popularity of Facebook decreases rapidly. (see the news above) Therefore, the second part of the project is to discover the reasons why the importance of Facebook decreases. Also, i am intended to find out its weakness/shortcoming by using different research methods. These data helps exploring the future development of Facebook. However,i am still not confirmed the methods that i will use in this project (maybe mobile survey, questionsire etc)  

Research Questions:
 1. Why the Facebook users indulge to Facebook in these few years?
 2. What are the superiority of Facebook when compare with other social networking sites such as Myspace and Twitter?
 3.What are the weakness/shortcoming of Facebook? Is these reasons lead to the decrease of the importance/popularity of Facebook?(directly related?)
 4. How can Facebook restore its leading position among the social networking sites in the future? What are the expectation of the Facebook users towards the functions/appearance of Facebook?
